Destination Florida: Orlando Special Event Space
What does connecting to your community look like?
For some it’s going out with friends to their favorite hot spot, for others it’s meeting new friends who live similarly to them. For most, it’s living like the local you are and enjoying locally crafted goods and services and talking to people doing the same around you.
Boxi Park in Lake Nona, opening soon (date is currently securely under wraps), is bringing a whole new vision and opportunity for Central Floridians to connect with their Lake Nona community.
From what started as Chroma, Canvas, a few apartments and office buildings, the Lake Nona Town Center has rapidly grown in the past couple of years to the next “downtown.”
Boxi Park is the newest addition to this area, made completely from recycled shipping crates! The icing? The park is also dog-friendly, so you can sip margaritas from La Cajita or enjoy a local craft beer from Hops and Vine with your adorable four-legged friends!
Imprint Group Creative Solutions Manager Carolyn Capurso recently toured Boxi Park and other parts of Lake Nona’s Town Center at night, grabbing a sneak peak of the park you are soon to know and love.
Lake Nona is being referred to as neo-urban, and for those of you who may be new to this term, it is a way to describe an area that is not quite a full-blown city, but rather offers the amenities of a city while pairing with suburban style living.
This style of living caters to those who would like a nice break from their daily commutes and want to spend more time connecting with their community. As we move away from traditional labels in many facets of our lives, so too are we re-organizing the way we live and how we describe this – intro: neo-urban.
Are you interested in visiting this groundbreaking, 17-square mile town, but not from the area? Come and check out one of the two hotels offered, minutes from Orlando International Airport (MCO): Courtyard by Marriott (100 rooms) and Residence Inn by Marriott (102 rooms).
Both are new and very corporate-friendly. A great location for corporate events, special events and even team building activities.
This downtown area is very walkable but also hosts a complimentary parking garage (yes, you read that correctly), and a bike share program that is wonderful for exploring the 44-miles of trails throughout the community.
Lake Nona Town Center had made a true imprint here in Central Florida and is creating their own sense of community and set of DNA with their artfully decided list of venues, shops, restaurants, hotels, art installations and other offerings.
